Newstead 1-bdr Apt w/free car park &fantastic pool

Great location, but needs upgrades for the cost. Positive: The location was very handy for the event we were attending, and the contact was very responsive. Negative: To maintain privacy, we had to keep blinds closed. The lounge is a very well-worn sofa bed, so uncomfortable to sit on. The bathroom needs mould cleaning. The ironing board is one of those tiny bench top ones that are useless to use.

Positive: The location is fantastic for seeing shows at The Triffid. Negative: The apartment looks clean at face value, but when you look closer it's covered in mould and dust. Immediately when you walk in it smells like dampness covered up with air freshener. None of the shelves in the robe had been wiped, and the carpets had thick layers of dust around the edges. There's mould on the ceiling and the fridge in the kitchen, in the bathrooom, inside the sofa bed too - which is impossible to sit on properly because the mattress isn't inside it (which is meant to stay on when it's closed up so that the couch doesn't sag). I got sick immediately after my stay and I'm certain it's because of the mould. The washing machine was filthy too, I couldn't bring myself to put my clothes in it. The dining table is also unstable, and the bed isn't very sturdy either - it's creaks loudly, and the mattress feels 20 years overdue for a replacement. There's no reason why a bnb that charges this much shouldn't have good furniture and be properly clean. The mould is a serious issue that needs to be sorted professionally, as well as the cause of the dampness. There were fruit flies coming out of all of the drains in the apartment too, likely part of whatever damp thing is going on.

Great apartment, had everything we needed Positive: The location was great and the apartment was very clean and spacious, had everything we needed for a short stay. The hosts were also very responsive and replied quickly if we had any questions. Negative: The wifi was a bit slow at times. Also took a while to figure out how to get up to the third floor carpark as the instructions didn’t specify that there was an extra fob in the carpark that controls the gate to level 2 but once we realised that there were no issues.
